If you are unable to print from your Mac, follow these quick troubleshooting steps in order to resolve the issue.
1. Check Your Wi-Fi Network
Printers are hosted on our secure internal network. If your Mac switches to the Guest Wi-Fi network, it will be unable to communicate with the printer.
Click the Wi-Fi icon in the top-right corner of your menu bar.
Verify which network you are currently connected to.
If you are connected to DanversGuest, click on DPS-Faculty or DPS-Administration to reconnect.
Try printing your document again.
Verification: Ensure your Wi-Fi status shows connection to [Internal Wi-Fi Name] before attempting to print.
2. Check and Resume Your Print Queue
If a print job encounters a brief glitch, macOS may automatically pause the printer queue, preventing any new documents from printing.
- Click the Spotlight Search icon (magnifying glass) in the top-right corner of your menu bar (or press
Command + Space).
- Type Print Center into the search bar and press Return to open the application.
- Select your printer from the window.
- If the queue displays Paused, click the Resume button (or play icon) at the top of the window. Click the X icon next to any stuck jobs to cancel them.
Try to print again.
Verification: The status at the top of the queue window should change from "Paused" to "Ready" or display active processing..
